Descriptions
Offers resources for parents hiring a babysitter, nanny, or in-home child service provider. Operates registry of in-home child care providers, tutors, and in home counselors. All providers have passed background screening and not have any:
- Disqualifying criminal convictions
- Substantiated child abuse reports in California
All listed caregivers are screened through the California Department of Justice's fingerprint check.
Eligibility
Open to all Parents and license exempt child care providers.
Application Process
Parents: Call for intake. Must provide in-home child care provider's full name, driver's license number or other approved identification.
To become a registered provider: Call for application. Must submit fingerprints and application directly to DOJ/CDSS.

No fee to check if someone is registered or to register if providing care through child care subsidy;
Fee vary to apply if provider is not being paid through subsidy.
