Descriptions
Provides free civil legal assistance to low-income individuals, families, organizations, and communities. Assists with the following subjects:
- Housing: Eviction, Section 8, HUD, discrimination
- Seniors: Senior Estate Planning and Elder Adult Restraining Orders
- Immigration: Helping crime victims apply for certain types of immigration relief
- Benefits: SSI Disability, CalWorks, CalFresh, In-Home Supportive Services, and General Assistance
- Health: Making sure patients receive essential treatment as the law requires
- Family Violence: Any threatening, coercive, dominating or abusive behavior that occurs between people in a family
- Employment: Helping workers with disputes about wages, overtime pay and unemployment insurance
- Guardianship: Legal process when an adult becomes the guardian of a minor with no caretaker.
