Provides needed health care services for eligible low-income individuals and families. Medi-Cal helps cover:
- Outpatient
- Emergency Services
- Hospitalization
- Prescription Drugs
- Laboratory Services
- Maternity and Newborn Care
- Dental
- Vision (children)
Eligibility
-Individuals who meet the income requirements
-Age 65 or older
-Meet Social Security's definition of a blind or disabled individual
-Families with children by qualify as long as deprivation exists such as meeting one of the following criteria:
Absent parent
Incapacitated parent (disabled more than 30 days, but not permanent)
Disabled parent
Deceased parent
-Primary wage earner working less than 100 hours or income less than 100% of federal poverty level
-Children under the age of 21
-Pregnant women
