Program: TRIBAL TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF)

Descriptions
Provides temporary cash assistance for low-income Native American families with children. Recipients receive employment services to become self-sufficient. Also offers incentive payments for children attending school for clothing and other items. Recipients receive help with childcare, transportation, and other resources to become self-sufficient.
Eligibility
- Must be member or descendent of a Federally recognized tribe or California Indian Judgment rolls
- Must be a low-income or unemployed parent with dependent children, aged 18 or younger, living at home
- Adults able to work must satisfactorily participate in approved work activities for a minimum 24 hours per week
